On the other hand, the rest of the month has been not for the faint of heart (with further cuts for medical TMI and general ickiness)
1. The abscess on my face, the one where I went to the ER? Yeah, it closed up and re-infected between getting out of the ER last Tuesday and getting to the dermatologist this Tuesday. It had to be re-opened, re-drained, and this time packed. Today I got the packing out, with instructions to open it up and swab it out twice a day with dilute hydrogen peroxide on a cotton swab.
1a. There is no damn way I can do that to myself; I don't have the courage.
1b. Fortunately, Dale is not easily squicked and *can* do it to me.
1c. It hurts.
1d. It is also extremely unsettling. I think the squeams are almost worse than the pain.
2. My shoulder. Okay, I probably shouldn't gripe too much about the shoulder; it only hurts when I make certain motions, the PT should help keep it from getting too much worse before it gets better, and the PT itself isn't particularly painful, just achy.
3. Dale's knee. Orthopedist thinks maybe it isn't a bone spur; maybe it's arthritis. So Dale has had a cortisone injection and is instructed to get back in touch if that doesn't help. Dale does not need arthritis in his knees, really.
4. Various and sundry crapweasels have been gnawing on my friends and acquaintances, and I'd really like it to stop.
