Essay posted elsenet: religious (Pagan)
I have recently made a formal commitment to a Pagan spiritual path. I may post more about that here; if I do, from now on I'll cut-tag it, but I'm not going to create a new filter.

If you're interested in how this happened, I invite you to read Janet's Wild Ride: First Esbat at the Greenhaven Tradition site.

Best of luck, Janet. Seems like you've found a meaningful path and I hope it brings you lots of joy.

Singing is a *very* powerful energetic act. I probably sang my way out of a very turbulent time 6-7 years ago and made sense of my feelings that way.

I wish you joy and just the right kind of growing pains. I'm very glad you've found a spiritual home.

I'm looking forward to hearing of your journey.

Sounds like you've found yourself a home. Good luck with following your path.

BTW--Followed the link from Greenhaven to Witches' Voice and looked around for a local group in my area. Found this listed as local -http://www.thecircleofthesacredwell.org/index.html

...and found out they meet literally right down the street from my house!!! So I thank you for a lead if I choose to explore that path!

Wow!
This is really cool. I'm glad that you found the resources on the site to be useful in networking.

Wonderful! You had that witchy feel feel since I first met you and I'm glad to see you are acknowledging it and pursuing it! Enjoy the ride and remember it's not about the destination, it's about the journey.

Happy squee! & many hugs.

Oh wow! Congratulations!

Many congratulations!

(And if there's anything I can do to help along the way, do let me know - for example, I'm weeding a bunch of my own Pagan books for this move, and if there's anything you're particularly looking for, would be glad to give you first dibs.)

On the wild rides: I've been blessed with a bunch of those amazing intense moments. While I never assume that they're going to happen in any particular ritual, they do keep happening for me. Which I think is awesome.

Best wishes for you. I hope Wicca proves to be a good, sustaining, evolving spiritual path for you.

I had always figured you were Pagan. I am delighted you are taking formal training.
My coven scattered to the Winds and I miss standing in Circle but have not tried to find another group. Solitary practice is sitting well with me at the present time.
Blessed be!

Janet,

My nw coven just dedicated as a whole on Friday evening. Since many of these individuals are new to the path, would you mind if I share your Janet's Wild Ride: First Esbat post with them? I think they would all benefit from reading about your experience.

Thank you for asking, and please feel free to link -- it's a public post.

If any of your coven members have comments that you're comfortable relaying back to me, I'd appreciate hearing them. Or, if you want, you can link to this post and they can comment anonymously.

Congratulations on your dedication!

Thank you on both counts. We are now the ASW's 9th coven :) and the 1st in the Circle of Capricorn. I'm sure I will have some kind of post about this as well.
