Tuesday night we had a major thunderstorm -- power was knocked out at work, traffic lights were out (not even on flashing red, but just out) all along Cumberland Ave., Alcoa Highway was dark from I-40 down to the Motor Miles, and according to the newspaper, more than 125,000 people lost power because of downed trees and the like.
Today, Thursday, 30,000 people are still without power and there are still intersections where police are directing traffic in lieu of signals.
KUB is estimating that it could be "days" before power is restored.

Good Thoughts for those who are sweltering without air conditioning, lights, electricity for cooking and keeping food cold, and so on.
