When I was a child, the laundry detergent Fab had a commercial where a family was laughing and playing and rolling down a grassy hill. The first time I was taken to see snow, I looked down over the snow-covered hill and promptly lay down and rolled (it was not steep or dangerous). I remember my dad asking me where I'd learned to do that, and his being less than thrilled when I told him it was from a tv commercial.
Much more recently, Orbitz has had the series of commercials with the hovercraft. This one is my favorite, with the final exchange of
Customer: Why didn't you just mail [the refund check]?
Orbitz guy, completely uncomprehending: But . . . we have a hovercraft.
Why do I not have a hovercraft? Preferably one that is not full of eels.
