CEPT Update: kind of iffy news
My co-worker S's daughter is still out sick and is being tested for pre-eclampsia. This is a very serious condition for both mother and baby, and in her case is complicated by a congenital renal fusion.

S's daughter is 25 weeks pregnant; no estimate at this time of baby's weight. The docs are telling her that if she has a mild case of pre-eclampsia, she'll be put on bedrest until delivery (or unless the eclampsia gets worse); if it's a severe case they'll have to deliver the baby immediately and hope for the best.

Your continuing prayers and prayer-analogs are deeply appreciated.

I was developing pre-eclampsia with childthing, but "luckily" it was further along in the pregnancy, and very slow to develop, so he got born only a couple weeks early with no real complications to me or him, apart from endless blood tests and bed rest. I do remember how absolutely terrible I felt though, and S's daughter and grandchild get the bestest thoughts I can muster.

My mother and I were one of the few mother/baby survivors of (undiagnosed) eclampsia at the hospital where I was born...scary, scary condition. I really hope that's not what S's daughter has; but, if it is, I'm glad it was at least found now. Sending good thoughts...I hope she and the baby are okay. :(
