Ack! It's out?

She does the thing she said she didn't want to write another Miles book because she would have to do it, didn't she? I am torn, because on the one hand, but then on the other the last couple of Miles books seemed to have Contractual Obligation written all over them, so if this one gets back to gut-ripping angst, I suppose it's a good thing... sort of...

:wibbles:

Anne, you're showing up on all my friends' journals who I didn't think you knew! :-)

Janet was one of my first imaginary Internet friends, way back in the halcyon days of Usenet!

The ARC is available as a .LIT file on the Baen site. That file type can be opened with the free Microsoft Reader.

This one is kind of funny up until the Horrible Angst. There are some marvelous moments of Miles Being Miles.

Paraphrased from memory, and not too spoilery, I don't think:

Character A: So what about me?

Miles: You're free to go. The only people I can arrest on this planet are other Barrayarans.

Character A: But what about those other guys?

Miles: I didn't arrest them, I kidnapped them.
