Eeep. Small plane crash at Deer Valley Airport, Phoenix, AZ
KTVK Channel 3 in Phoenix, Arizona, A small plane crashed into a building at (or possibly near) Deer Valley Airport, at about 6 a.m. local time (about 9 a.m. Eastern).

Deer Valley Airport is a large general aviation airport, with a flight school, and apparently in or near an industrial park.

KPHO CBS Channel 5 reports, "The building is occupied by Citywide Pest Control."

A KTVK news helicopter saw the crash and reported that "the plane appeared to be trying to land on Runway 7-Left, which is surrounded by buildings."

CNN is reporting that it was believed to be a student pilot; however, the KTVK website says, "There's no information at this point about the pilot or any passengers."

Per what I just heard, there are no survivors from the plane and no injuries on the ground. There was a fire from the crash but Phx and Metro fire departments got it under control before it spread.
I'm sure there will be much more reported through out the day.

From the video, it didn't look like any survivors. Glad to hear there were no additional injuries on the ground.

It looked like most of the damage to the building was smoke and fire, rather than impact, but that's probably an illusion.

It's oddly a very similar situation to a crash of a small plane into a building up in St. Johns (into an empty high school building). That wasn't a student pilot, though.
