This is one of those posts that starts out with, "I'm okay, really."
After an eight-year hiatus, I was involved in a car accident this afternoon. I do not appear to be seriously injured, but I know about soft tissue damage and will be self-observant just in case something shows up in the next couple of days.

Yikes! Scary! Please stay in bed and take it easy, get well soon!

I am taking it easy, but I'm also up and moving around, albeit a bit slowly, and doing very gentle stretches to keep from stiffening up too much. Thanks for your good wishes!

First off, ow!
Secondly, *hug* if you want.
Thirdly, I am extremely glad you are not hurt any worse.
Fourthly, I hope recovery is fast and that the pain recedes very quickly.
May you get enough rest and be back on your feet shortly - and may the rental company come up with the hangtag and parking pass.

Thanks so much. I'm feeling significantly better today -- just two days after the accident. This bodes well.

Gah! Glad you made it through in relatively good condition.

Gah! indeed. :-) Thank you; I'm glad too.

Somehow missed this when it came by. . .

Just a point: you didn't swear at a fireman. You swore NEAR a fireman. You swore AT the car, which, perhaps, didn't REALLY deserve it, but which, as it is an inanimate object, really doesn't mind.

I suspect that emergency responders have a high tolerance for being sworn near. They tend to go to swear-inducing events.

I suspect you're right, because after I said, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't yell at you," the firefighter said, approximately, "That's all right, you can yell at me all you want, but you'll have to yell at me, because I'm a little hard of hearing and can't understand you if you're yelling in the other direction."

Yike! I'm glad you're okay, aside from a charley horse and the hip pain. Hurrah for Vicodin.

If ever a situation is worth cussing over, it's a car accident.

How are you doing now? And lingering hurties? All ok?

My thoughts are with you still.

Hey, Tobie. I seem to be in pretty good shape after this one -- some creakiness in my right collarbone, but it's going away on its own. Thanks for asking!
