Household reclamation

Accomplished yesterday: Three loads of laundry washed and put away. Dishwasher emptied as soon as it was finished, so new dishes can go in directly. Cleaned stove and portions of counter.

Not accomplished yesterday: Trip to Goodwill.

Planned for today: More laundry. If I get the hallway cleared out, move the bookcases. Trip to Goodwill, really for sure.

Update, 6 p.m.: Okay, the first load of laundry is just finishing its third run through the dryer. Perhaps it will be dry now. (For reference, this is not abnormal. Everything takes two cycles, and jeans and towels almost always take three.) I made the Goodwill trip with three egg crates: one of videotapes, one of linens, and one of miscellaneous housewares. I also got my oil changed, and also called the garbage service to find out why our trash hasn't been picked up for the last two Mondays. That was apparently either an oversight or we just didn't get it out early enough, and the driver swung by this afternoon and picked it all up.
