I hope this would be obvious, but just in case:
I do not intend to opt into the "your journal, your money" program now being offered by LJ. I also will not complain about it if people I read do choose to opt in.

Thanks for the heads-up. Not opting in, have no opinion on whether others do or not. I'm a permanent account holder, so I won't see the ads in any case.

Are you sure? Stipulated, I didn't think about that aspect (I'm a perm account holder also). Thinking about it, one presumes since one perm account feature is, one doesn't see ads, then we won't begin to see 'opt-in make money' ads either.

Mind you, I'm exercising pretty much the same selections our host here expressed. Not for me, may be for others.

According to the LJ News item, permanent and paid account holders will not currently see the Google AdSense ads unless they both opt in to the program *and* opt to see ads site-wide.

Ah. Since I didn't read the link in depth, the corollary is obvious. It pays to read.

.

Wait, was that a pun?

In the news article Janet linked to, it said that paid and permanent account holders who did not opt in would continue to not see any ads anywhere.
