Meta/phor
Person A: It's a good thing I don't like pickles.

Person B: Why is that?

Person A: Because if I liked pickles, I'd have to eat them, and I hate pickles!

[This is not in reference to anyone or anything on LJ. Seriously. I don't mean you. Or that post you're thinking of. It's from my life offline.]

Stepson: I don't like tomatoes!

Mom: Why not?

Stepson: Because I don't!

Verbatim conversation. You are not alone.

That wasn't an actual conversation, that I know of (I read it as a joke somewhere, although clearly it's not an impossible conversation); it was more a metaphor for my reaction to something. Kind of. But not exactly.

I don't like tomatoes because of the seeds. It took me ~years~ to figure out that as the reason.

Huh. The seeds are my favorite part.

I find the texture/tooth feel to be irritating and the taste to be bitter. Which is why I like tomato sauce but not tomato slices.

The funny thing is that I dislike ketchup because of the vinegar but I like mustards.
