Last night's dreams

A ?colony ship? ended up going back in time rather than out in space and arriving on earth well before the development of human civilizations. The crew spent the rest of my night debating various "sent back in time" and "starting a new civilization from scratch" stories, including but not limited to Twain's "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" and Weber's Off Armageddon Reef, and trying to come up with a comprehensive plan for improving the chances of humanity in the new version of the future. The one thing they all agreed on was "...and real separation of church and state, for sure".
