Oh, and I'm back from the dentist
And feeling mostly okay.

Although I just had a scary moment of nausea (I think I got overheated; I was cold earlier, and so wrapped up in a robe). But Dale brought me a cool washcloth for my face and the back of my neck, and I feel better now.

He said it was a "textbook" procedure and "great results". I don't seem to be bleeding as much as the first two rounds. I hurt, all of a sudden, though, and can't take another pill for another three hours.

Yay for "great results!" I hope the pain leaves soon.

Thumbs held for your comfort and healing.

Thank you. I am mostly comfortable, and have a pretty good idea how the healing will go, from rounds one and two. There is something to be said for knowing what to expect. :-)

Oil of clove. Topical pain reducer. Used by dentists and will not react with pain drugs.
Janet Miles, CAP-OMjanetmiles on March 7th, 2011 11:55 pm (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure oil of clove is safe on open wounds (I had gum surgery, so I have lots of exposed -- stitched, but exposed -- tissue), but I'll look into it.

Well, when I had dry socket, my dentist packed the hole with plugs soaked in it.
BTW it tastes horrible, but it does work.
Janet Miles, CAP-OMjanetmiles on March 8th, 2011 12:59 pm (UTC)
Thanks! That's information I didn't have. I knew oil of clove could help with the pain from a cavity, but hadn't previously heard of it being used on the gum itself.

So far, I'm doing okay, but I'll certainly keep it in mind if things get out of hand.

I have been in your shoes for this, so I know it will feel better soon. In the mean time healing energy is there for you.
Janet Miles, CAP-OMjanetmiles on March 8th, 2011 03:28 am (UTC)
*lopsided grin* I have been in my shoes, too, and I know it will feel better soon. But that doesn't mean I'll turn down the healing energy, and thank you.
