Signal boost: poetry fishbowl on Tuesday, Feb. 8
ysabetwordsmith writes, "Okay, let's try this again. The February Poetry Fishbowl has been rescheduled for Tuesday 8. Please help me spread the word so that participation will be decent." The fishbowl normally meets on the first Tuesday of the month, but an ice storm knocked out her internet this week.

Her topic this month will be "Vision & Sight". She'll be open to
ideas for visionaries, seers, blind characters, monsters with magical sight, visual aids or artifacts, unusual types of vision, invisible things, plot twists that turn on spotting something, visions, places where visions may be sought, settings where it's easier or harder than usual to see things, the limitations of vision, and poetic forms in particular.

A poetry fishbowl is sort of the literary equivalent of the omelet station at a fancy brunch: you give her ingredients, and she creates art. It may or may not be what you expect, but it's always good. Ysabet's poetry can be funny, serious, light, charming, horrific, pointed, or thoughtful. She can write in a near-infinity of set forms, as well as free verse and prose poems.

She always posts one freebie, and any month where there's a new prompter or donor, she posts a second freebie. All the rest are up for sponsorship (sale), and you can sponsor any poem -- you're not limited to ones you prompted. When you sponsor a poem, you are buying non-exclusive reprint rights, so you can it on your LJ / DW, blog, or web page. You can even print up copies and hand them out, if you want! (Always with appropriate credit, of course, but you know that.)

It's a lot of fun to watch art happen. Please boost the signal, and don't forget to Feed the Fish!
