At work, slow
1. Painting is hard work. My hands ache.

2. Painting flat white over flat white in a hallway lit only by fluorescent overheads is hard work, because it's hard to see where you've been.

3. Painting is kind of fun in the areas that are really scuffed or filthy, because you can see where you've been and watch things look better.

4. Painting is dangerous, because as each wall gets painted, the ones nearby look even worse. (This is in the public hallway outside our suite of offices. We are not going to paint all the hallways. Really.)

5. I forget.

5. Painting should be a grand spectator sport because Physical Plant is doing it rather than office staff?

I've been contemplating painting the walls in Studio. And maybe the floors. The floors, because they are bare plywood, not covered otherwise.

Physical Plant is not doing it. If Physical Plant were doing it, we'd be waiting until summer and it would cost us several thousand dollars.

I would recommend not painting the floors in Studio, because paint is slippery if, say, your shoes are wet.

Is a thought. Would be painting to help make sweeping up easier; mostly do not wear shoes in Studio anyway.

*nods* I would still be inclined to suggest something meant for floors, but hey, you're a grown-up and perfectly capable of making your own decisions :-).

Not to mention this is Old Technology, and in today's Economic Crisis, could be interpreted as throwing good money into old... or something.

Which would be why not waiting for Physical Plant there. *G*

I can't paint. It would mean I'd have to move BOOKSHELVES!!!
GAH!

We are painting relatively new office space (training room, conference room, hallways).

Sometimes it's just easier to move into a new place.
You can paint it before it gets cluttered!

I rather like painting - it can be very cathardic, but doing it at home vs the office is a whole other story.

If you are achey perhaps taking some boo-boo-prophen is in order however you are a big girl and capable of independent thought and probably have done that already.

*grin* Why, yes, I have in fact been taking ibuprofen since mid-afternoon yesterday.

Actually, I am rather liking the painting, but, well, flat white over flat white is just darned hard to see what you're doing.

Well, you could use a light color and paint graffiti so that you have something to paint over.
